A childrens book I love

In working with children that have domestic violence in their lives, I have come across many books that we have read to them to aide in their healing process. One of those books that I really like is called The Invisible String by Patrice Karst. This book talks about the way that we are always connected even though we are not always together. It helps children overcome the fear of being lonely or of separation. It lets them know that people who love each other are connected by this invisible string of love. They may not be able to see it but they can feel it and know that they are always loved no matter where they are.

  1. Christina, I think you made a good choice to read a book to the children, because it also helps with print awareness in early childhood literacy. They are learning as they are healing.
